The General Staff of the Armed Forces: Russia lost 1160 military and more than 30 artsystems per day

Russia lost about 949,800 of its military during a full -scale invasion of Ukraine, including 1160 people – in the last day – such data as of April 28, the Ukrainian General Staff cites.

Among other losses of the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces Command called the following:

  • tanks – 10 723 (+4 units for the past day)
  • combat armored vehicles – 22 338 (+13)
  • artillery systems – 27 038 (+31)
  • RSZV – 1 373
  • air defense – 1 145
  • aircraft – 370
  • helicopters – 335
  • UAV Operative-tactical level-34 083 (+72)
  • winged rockets – 3 196
  • ships/boats – 28
  • submarines – 1
  • automobile equipment and tanks – 46 292 (+105)
  • special equipment – 3 860

Russia does not officially disclose its losses. Moscow last called the number of killed in September 2022 – then declared 5937 dead.

On March 5, intelligence of the United Kingdom said that, since the beginning of 2025, Russia probably lost about 90,000 soldiers killed and wounded in the war against Ukraine.

“Russia has probably experienced about 875,000 casualties since the invasion of Ukraine. The average daily loss of Russians during February 2025 amounted to 1255 people, according to the General Staff of Ukraine, which is the lowest average daily rate since August 2024, ”the message reads.

Kyiv also did not voice losses for a long time, stating that the data would be disclosed after the war. At the same time, on February 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with NBC News that since February 2022, Ukraine lost more than 46,000 soldiers and about 380,000 in the war.
