The Droid TW system integrated artificial intelligence, which allows the recognition of the enemy’s living power. Due to remote control and autonomy in difficult combat conditions, it increases the efficiency of fire support and observation.
IU added that Droid Tw development began a few years ago. In 2023, the first field tests took place, and in December 2024 the platform was allowed for supply to the Armed Forces.
“The first Droid Tw models were created on the basis of the Browning Machinem gun 12.7 mm. Today, the model line has been expanded due to a 7.62 mm machine gun. Depending on the modification of the ammunition, can be 480 or 1,000 ammunition, which affect the living power or technique of the enemy at a distance of 1 km, ”the Defense Ministry noted.
The robotic platform can be used both day and night, thanks to the thermal imaging with the possibility of selecting different modes of display on the operator monitor. The range of detection in the daytime is up to 1.5 km, at night – up to 1 km.
“Additional equipment allows you to detect, recognize and accompany targets offline. The complex also has a ballistic calculation system to increase the accuracy of fire. Its equipment is supported by military communication systems as well as Starlink and LTE technologies, ”the department explained.
The platform can be transported in a pickup body or on a trailer, and the deployment in combat occurs within 5 minutes. After that, thanks to remote control through the tablet or gamepad Droid Tw is ready to destroy the enemy.
