American and Japanese scientists have made an important breakthrough in quantum physics, finding previously unprecedented quantum states in unique two -dimensional material – the twisted molybdenum dyelurid.

Researchers used a specially designed optical technique that enabled them to look into the complex structure of the quantum world, previously hidden from view. These states were so unusual that the researchers did not expect to find them in such quantities.

The uniqueness of the discovery is that to fix quantum phenomena did not need an external magnetic field, which was previously considered necessary. Instead, scientists used the internal properties of muar structures created during a small twist of layers thick in one atom. This made it possible to observe complex effects, such as the fractional quantum effect of Hall, in which electrons behave as collective formations-quasi-papers with unusual properties.

The developed technique of probe-tracking spectroscopy uses laser impulses to destroy and further analysis of the recovery of quantum states. Thanks to this method, about twenty different conditions were recorded, some of which have not been observed before.

The results open to scientists in the development of stable quantum computers based on topological conditions, which are less prone to errors and are independent of unstable external factors.

The study is published in the journal Nature And the attention of the world scientific community has already attracted.
