Doge has access to a secret system with millions of immigrants in the US – WP

The Washington Post reports that Doge (US Department of State Efficiency), which is headed by billionaire Ilon Musk, has received permission to access the ECAS ECAS Base of the Ministry of Justice, where personal data of legal and illegal immigrants are stored.

According to The Washington Post, about six DOGE advisers working at the Ministry of Justice were permitted last Friday from the management of the department for access to ECAS.

The senior lawyer of the National Immigration Center Lynn Damiano Pearson has expressed concern that Doge attempts to access stored data can violate the right to confidentiality from both US citizens and foreigners.

Of particular alarm, she said, causes access to confidential information in the ECAS system, which is usually intended exclusively for immigrants themselves or their authorized lawyers.
