“Update in Anti -Dooping Program from ITIA”, – WRITE: Sport.ua
“ITIA has still worked hard to ensure that the shower after matches could be considered a permissible delay for doping control, especially when the lack of a soul can adversely affect the health and condition of the player.
However, taking a shower is not a right, and it is for this reason that ITIA kindly asks players who take a shower, to keep the requirements to remain in the full field of view of the accompanying throughout the time.
If the player is uncomfortable to be supervised when taking a shower, we recommend that you consider the need to take a shower before taking a test for doping control.
The inability to stay in the full field of view of the accompanying person will be perceived by ITIA seriously, ”the agency said.
Another ITIA letter with more detailed explanations:
“We acknowledge that some parts of the doping control process may be inconvenient, however, as in all sports that meet the requirements of WADA, not only in tennis, players reported on testing after the match are constantly under the supervision of doping to complete the test.
This is the requirement of the World Anti -Doping Code. After the match, we understand that the player may take some time to take a sample, and therefore are expected to delay in the presentation of doping control, including cooling and showering. The well -being of players is a priority, and so we will continue to defend their rights, but it is important that no activity is jeopardized.
We regularly remind the players of specific rules and will be happy to answer any questions that they may arise. ”
Such letters have already been sent to tennis players and tennis players.
In early April, ITIA eliminated five tennis players for participating in contract matches.
