Patriarch ROC compared Easter with Victory Day

The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Cyril during the Easter service on the night of April 20 in the temple of Christ the Savior in Moscow called Easter “Victory Day.”

“Easter is Victory Day. We know that there is a Victory Day associated with the victory in the war, and Easter is the Victory Day associated with the victory over the worst enemy, over the devil, over the forces of evil, which reigned in the world, ”said the head of the ROC.

The Easter service in the Church of Christ was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobiangin and President Kirill Dmitriev, who negotiates with the United States on behalf of the Kremlin.

On April 9, the Kremlin extended Vladimir Putin, who announced the Easter Truce. According to him, the Russian side “stops all fighting from 18:00 on April 19 to 00:00 on April 21.” At the same time, Putin added, Russian troops should be ready to reflect “possible violations of the truce.”
