His comments appeared a few hours after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that President Donald Trump would refuse to attempt to enter into a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, unless there are clear signs of what can be done.
Vance added that negotiations with Meloni will also focus on “trade talks, not only between Italy and the US, but also with the EU.”
In the Kremlin, in response to Rubio’s comment, they declared some progress and work on the settlement of war in Ukraine, but noted “many difficult questions”.
