Details: According to the DBR, the Ministry of Defense officer has established a scheme of fictitious booking of the military due to the false employment – more than 50 people appear in the case.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, the incumbent officer of one of the centers of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine used official position and personal connections to influence officials of territorial centers of staffing. Thanks to this, he was able to enter into the register data on the “reservation” of men of conscript age.
For “services” “clients” paid from $ 8 to $ 10 thousand. He received payment for the person in cash, recalculations to bank cards or in cryptocurrency.
Formally, men were arranged in civilian positions in the Ministry of Defense units, but they did not appear to work and did not perform any responsibilities.
Investigators check that the appropriate appointments were officially issued and whether employees could also receive a salary from the budget.
The officer was detained when receiving another payment – $ 8,000. He was informed of suspicion of obtaining undue benefit. He was searched at home, as well as his likely accomplices, Shopping Center officials and clients.
Law enforcement officers seized documents, correspondence and other evidence of participation in the corruption scheme.
The investigation prepares a petition in court for the election of a defendant in the form of detention. He faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing. The DBR establishes a complete circle of involved persons, among whom may also be officials of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense, the Tax Code and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
