On April 17, 2025, UkrPoshta sold four lots of “Blind auctions”, which exhibited 100 uncressed parcels each. They did not reach the addressees in such regions as Volyn, Kyiv, Rivne and Ternopil.
According to the transparent system. Sales, the starting price of each lot was 1200 UAH. The auctions were attended by packages stored in warehouses in Lutsk, Rivne, Kiev and Ternopil. The conditions of the auction were special – buyers were not able to get acquainted with the content of lots, which created an excitement element. The cost of one lot was estimated at 12 UAH for each parcel.
The description of the lots states that the buyer receives a “set of boxes (untouched departures)”, the content of which remained unknown. These can be both ordinary books, electronics, clothing or goods from other countries. Photos to the auctions were shown boxes with markings of well -known marketers such as Amazon and popular brands.
The most expensive lot, which was sold on April 17, is a package from Lutsk, which was redeemed for 25 000 UAH. The lot from the warehouse in Kiev went for 24 986,43 UAH, and the Ternopil lot was sold for 19 005 UAH. The smallest amount was offered for parcels from the warehouse in Rivne – 12 222.02 UAH.
The deputies of Ukrposhta note that the sale of unruly shipments is a world practice. Similar practice is used by international postal companies, including Amazon, USPS, FedEx, and Royal Mail. In Ukraine, UkrPoshta launched this mechanism in May 2024, and since then more than 160 auctions have been held.
All exposed lots are formed randomly, but all parcels should be intact and undisclosed. In Ukrposhta, they explain that these departments were delivered to the address but were not taken away by either recipients or sendering. The legislation allows the company to sell such parcels through auctions.
CEO of Ukrposhta Igor Smilyansky notes that since the auction was launched, people have found a variety of goods in the lots, from electronics to bicycle frames. Such auctions are not only interesting to business, but also attract those who seek content for social networks. He also noted that buyers could not predict what would be in the box, but it adds drive and excitement to the process.
This format of selling unduited parcels allows Ukrposhta not only to effectively dispose of postal departments, but also to create interesting opportunities for entrepreneurs and those who are looking for profitable purchases.
In general, the “blind auction” system continues to grow in popularity, giving new opportunities for buyers ready for surprises, and bringing additional revenues to the company’s budget.
We used to write that Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Made the first Step to the creation of UkrPoshta Bank.
Also we will remind that UkrPoshta completed the process complete automation of their sorting lines. The latest automatic installations were installed in Nikolaev and Zaporozhye, which became an important milestone for the company.
