Belgium will give Ukraine 150 million euros for recovery

Belgium will provide Ukraine with 150 million euros of technical assistance within the Belgian Initiative to Support Ukraine (Be-Relyve Ukraine), which will operate until 2028. This was reported in the Ministry of Community Development and Territories.

Be-Relyve Ukraine will last until the end of 2028.

According to the Deputy Minister of Community and Territories Konstantin Kovalchuk, Ukraine will receive 150 million euros from the Belgium government, which will be aimed at restoring and maintaining critical infrastructure, preparing for winter, and creating an inclusive environment.

The ministry notes that the implementation of the project will cover both the national level and specific regions. In particular, the participants of the project include Chernihiv and Kyiv regions, as well as the city of Kyiv.

According to the data published on February 25, the World Bank, the Government of Ukraine, the European Commission and the UN on the assessment of losses and needs (RDNA4) that arose due to Russia’s aggression, the need for the restoration of Ukraine over the next decade should be $ 524 billion. In particular, the needs for reconstruction and restoration are the highest in the residential sector – almost $ 84 billion from common long -term needs, energy and mining industry – almost $ 68 billion.
