The expert noted that Putin deliberately tightens Trump into the negotiation process to encourage greater concessions.

According to a senior researcher of the American Institute of Entrepreneurship, political scientist Leon Aron for Politico, Putin should strive for peace in Ukraine. The loss of the Russian army reached about 700,000 killed and wounded. Daily losses – up to a thousand soldiers. The economy inhibits, prices for basic products are rising rapidly.
Trump has actually facilitated Putin’s way to negotiations: preventive concessions, repetition of Kremlin propaganda, the consent that invasion is a reaction to NATO’s desire for NATO, calls to Kiev to abandon the occupied territories, the delegitimization of President Vladimir Zelensky.
However, Putin is in no hurry to negotiate. The real reason why Putin avoids peace is not new. Trump and his team do not see the obvious: Putin does not seek negotiations. This is a typical American miscalculation: lack of knowledge of Russia, belief in its own charisma and misunderstanding of the nature of authoritarianism. And in this Donald Trump exceeds his predecessors.
Here are 7 reasons why Putin avoids peace:1. The war legitimizes dictatorship.
After 2012, Putin changed the source of support – it is now militarized patriotism. Without the enemy there is no justification for repression and mobilization.
2. Putin like symbols of military force.
He is an important image of “Supreme Commander -in -Chief” in Stalin -style, with lands, uniforms and medals. The peace of this image is not needed.
3. The war is the support of the economy.
After 2022, the whole system was focused on war. Consumers are already suffering: bread, meat, pasta have increased twice and potatoes twice. GDP will increase by 1.4–1.6%, the central bank rate – 21%.
4. The end of the war risks arousing social discontent.
Benefits, bonuses, increased payments to the families of the dead can all disappear. The regions that won the war can lose the most.
Hundreds of thousands work in MIC. High salaries, prestige, stability – all this risks disappearing if you return to the peaceful labor market.
5. Any change is the risk to authoritarian regime.
Even a positive change, as a cessation of war, destabilizes the system. Authoritarianism does not tolerate flexibility.
6. Putin is prone to risks
The more Trump drives him to peace, the more Putin will demand. This is Putin’s article, the political scientist writes.
7. Putin needs a victory rather than a compromise.
For the Kremlin, victory is the only way to justify the victim. Otherwise, repression will be needed to restrain public dissatisfaction.
Trump and PutinAfter coming to power, Trump undertook the issue of ending the war in Ukraine and intended to establish relations with Moscow for one thing. However, for the promised 24 hours he failed to complete the war in Ukraine, now he thinks to do so in 100 days. However, his plans have gone wrong and now Trump is very angry with Putin.
On April 11, frustrated Trump set a tough time for Putin for Ukraine.
According to the media, several senior assistants of US President Donald Trump advise him to be more skeptical about the Kremlin’s desire to end the war against Ukraine. It is about Marco Rubio and Kita Kellog.
