Schmigal: EIB will provide Ukraine with EUR 300 million for energy recovery

The European Investment Bank provides Ukraine with EUR 300 million to restore energy and critical infrastructure, reported Prime Minister Denis Shmigal.

According to him, the relevant agreements were signed in Brussels during a meeting with President EIB Nadia Calvino.

“EUR 100 million Bank will provide investments in centralized heating, improvement of energy efficiency, purchase of the necessary equipment, in particular installations for the production of electricity or heat. EUR 100 million – for the implementation of projects aimed at improving water supply and sewerage. 100 million euros will be obtained for the restoration of water, heat and sewerage facilities, as well as for the modernization of major social services in the fields of education, health care and housing sector, ”the head of the government said.

Shmigal added that since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia, the EIB has mobilized over two billion euros of emergency financing for Ukraine.

Last April, it became known that Ukraine and the European Investment Bank Signed a memorandum on cooperation for 10 years.

By by the Ministry of Energy, Russia in three years of full -scale invasion has inflicted more than 30 massive complexes on objects energy infrastructure of Ukrainethe total losses of which are billions of dollars.
