Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine on Defense Issues and Extramongry of the 93rd Brigade of the Armed Forces “Cold Yar” Colonel Pavel Palis stated that Ukraine should take the experience of Israel on compulsory military service for men and women. However, the issue of women’s mobilization is “not standing so much”.
Palis said this in an interview with Bihus.info.
“Whatever it may sound wild now, we may need to study the experience of Israel. If a citizen is really a citizen and claims to receive from the state, education, in general, he claims any payments from the state budget, he should serve,” – explained Palis.
He added that it could be a “minimal” contract for men and women, because “in the modern army, there is a bunch of different work for all people.”
Answering the clarifying question whether Ukraine’s mobilization is needed, the colonel said: “I think this question is not so sharply. The women’s service in the army is more such a voluntary business, it seems to me. But in the future, as I said, it seems to me that it would be possible to consider this version of the Ukrainian.
Earlier, the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky explained that in Ukraine all data on mobilization are currently confidential. The enemy can find out the plans of the country in case of disclosure of information.
Andriy Veselovsky, diplomat, permanent representative of Ukraine with the EU (2008-2010), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, said that mobilization in Ukraine should reach the level in the Russian Federation. This is currently a critical issue for the country.
