Details: According to law enforcement officers, Russian intelligence services recruited teenagers in Ukraine for arson of railways. Initially, the children drew provocative graffiti – it was a “allegiance check”.
Then they set fire to the railway cabinets, filmed it on video and received new instructions, in particular – they were ordered to make explosives.
Six students who studied at one school were exposed in Smila in Cherkasy region. A 16-year-old Lyceum was detained in Chernihiv, trying to disrupt railroad logistics for the military.
The SBU managed to prevent terrorism and detained all involved. In Cherkasy region, the SBU staff detained the attacker “in hot pursuit” after the fire of the first energy object, he was declared suspicion of sabotage in the conditions of martial law, for which he could be in prison for a lifetime.
Reference: According to the legislation of Ukraine, even minors can be criminally responsible for committing particularly serious crimes, including diversions (Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). A person is responsible for 14 years of age during martial law.
Punishment for such an offense is imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment, with a possible confiscation of property. The court also takes into account the age, level of development, circumstances of the crime and may take softer measures, for example, to transfer to the supervision of parents or guardianship, or to send to a special institution for minors.
