“Since the creation of ATP Tour in 1990, ATP plays a leading role in the global growth of men’s professional tennis. For more than three decades, the ATP 50/50 management structure has provided players and tournaments equal to the highest level.
In recent years, transformative changes for players have brought with them. The introduction of a prize fund formula, record prize funds and new and expanded bonus funds have contributed to a significant increase in players (by $ 70 million over the past five years). The introduction of annual independent audits gave players full transparency on financial performance at ATP events. The ATP basic program has introduced a minimum guaranteed income for the 250 best players in single category, providing unprecedented financial security in professional tennis.
Contributions to the Pension Fund of Players have increased sharply, and the prize -winks in ATP Challenger Tour tournaments have increased more than twice, confirming the commitment of ATP to strengthen the career path of players.
These achievements were achieved through the ATP management structure, where every key decision was made with the participation of players and their elected representatives. Meanwhile, players – as independent contractors – retained great control over their schedules, which enables them to compete flexibly, train and monetize their careers as they see fit.
While ATP is still focused on reforms that benefit players at different levels, PTPA consistently selects division and distraction through misinformation instead of progress. Five years later, since its creation in 2020, PTPA tries to establish a significant role in tennis, which makes her decision to sue at this stage is unexplored.
We strongly reject the prerequisites for PTPA claims, we believe that the case is completely unfounded, and we will decisively defend our position. ATP still seeks to work in the best interests of the game – in the direction of constant growth, financial stability and the best future for our players, tournaments and fans. ”

WTA answer:
“PTPA actions are worthy of pity and false, and we will strongly defend our position at the right time.
WTA is a non -profit organization with a membership that exists to promote women’s tennis on behalf of players, tournaments and fans. WTA players, as equal members along with tournaments, have a significant and influential voice in WTA management. Each decision, made at the WTA Council, includes the contribution of players through their elected representatives in the Council, and athletes receive significant financial rewards and other benefits from participation in WTA.
It is this model of management, supported by generations of athletes, that made WTA make significant progress in the interests of our players. Among the many examples, in recent years we have undertaken to increase the players by $ 400 million, outlined the way to equal pay for our main WTA events, provided new investments to stimulate long -term sports growth and launched first comprehensive pregnancy and childbirth assistance.
WTA is fully devoted to the further development and improvement of the structure and activity of professional women’s tennis, listening carefully, as always, to the opinion of our players. The appeal of this unjustified court case takes time, attention and resources from our main mission to our players and sports in general. ”
