“Drop the bomb.” PTPA created by Dzhokovich, sued at ATP, WTA, ITF

Accusation: Using a “corrupt, illegal and offensive system””, – WRITE: Sport.ua

The Association of Professional Tennisists (PTPA) this morning, March 18, published a press release in which she reported that she filed a series of lawsuits against the “cartel” of tennis bodies, which are accused of creating a “corrupt, illegal and abusive system”, which is equivalent to the monopoly.

The defendants include all major governing bodies in this sport: International Tennis Federation (ITF), Tennis Professional Tennis (ATP), Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and International Tennis (ITIA). The latter oversees anti -doping and anti -corruption efforts in the game.

“Tennis is broken,” Akhmad Nassar said in the press release, the PTPA Executive Director. “According to the glamorous facade that promotes associations, players are trapped by an unjust system that operates their talent, suppresses their income and threaten their health and safety. We have exhausted all the possibilities for reform through dialogue, and the governing bodies did not leave us a choice but to seek responsibility through court. ”

The PTPA Association was founded in 2019 by Novak Dzhokovich and Canadian in his hurry. Their mission was to create an association devoted to the well -being and interests of players in a profession that does not allow trade unions. From the beginning of the open era, professional tennis has managed various partnerships between players, tournaments and administrators from the named defendants.

The plaintiffs claim that the defendants “act as a cartel, using a number of dragon, interconnected anti -competitive restrictions and abuse.” It is argued that these efforts include conspiracy to reduce competition, which allows the cartel to pay “artificially low compensation” to players and not allow potential competitors to market.

Lawsuations on ATP, WTA, ITA and ITF from PTPA:

  • conspiracy to limit the prize;
  • The “unacceptable” rating system, which, among other things, dictates in which tournaments the player can participate;
  • imposing a “unstable” rating system;
  • disrespect for the health and well -being of players;
  • Financial exploitation and violation of the right to privacy, as evidenced by random tests for doping and confiscation of players for their inspection.

Tennnis.com notes that PTPA has dropped the bomb on ATP, WTA, ITF and ITIA. It can be the first serious step in a new struggle in the sport known for its conflicts.
