The SpaceX astronaut’s mission arrived at the International Space Station, making it possible to return the Boeing Starliner long-suffering crew to Earth.
The CREW-10 mission started on Friday night to SpaceX Falcon 9, sending four astronauts from three different countries to the orbital station. This is the one with Jaxa, Anne McClein and Nicole Aers of NASA and Cyril Peskov of Roscosmos. Crew Dragon Crew-10 capsule called endrance capsies MKS early on Sunday morning.
The CREW-10 astronauts will replace four people who have been living with the ISS for some time-Nika Gayig of NASA, Alexander Gorbunov from Roscosmos and Suni Williams and Vilmore Bootcha, who came to the station aboard Boeing Starliner and could not get back on this ship. In the new team, McClein will play the role of crew commander, the Aers – the pilot, and Onisha and Peskov – specialists of the mission. The Quartet will be on board the ISS for about six months, which is the standard duration for missions at the station. NASA shared a video on which the newly arrived crew is greeting on the ISS.
Arrival Endurance made it possible to return to Gayg and Gorbunov’s land, which arrived at the station in late September as part of SpaceX Crew-9, and Williams and Vilmore, who joined CREW-9 as they have been in orbit since early June. All four will return to the ground on the Crew-9 Dragon ship not earlier than Wednesday, March 19, NASA representatives reported after the CREW-10 launch.

Boeing Starliner mission – what is known
The Boeing Starliner ship started on the Atlas V rocket from United Launch Alliance on June 5. On his board were NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams. This mission at the ISS has faced numerous problems: 7-year delay in startup, increase in costs, technical difficulties. During the June flight with a crew, several helium origins were observed (One of which was discovered before the start), and during the approach of the ship to the ISS 5 of 28 engines were refused.
Despite technical malfunctions, NASA was constantly insisting that the ship was able to deliver the crew back to the ground. However, the mission, which was 8 days, stretched on the moon, and the department had to recognize the opposite. In the end, NASA has announced that the return of astronauts to Boeing Starliner is impossible, so the flight will be provided by SpaceX. Ilona Maska sent only two astronauts on board CREW-9 at the end of September, leaving two vacancies for Williams and Vilmore. They will be able to return home with the Crew-9 mission.
