The Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky stated that the loss of Russian troops had exceeded 100,000 people since the beginning of the year.

“Thanks to the coordinated and professional work of our defenders, the total loss of occupiers in the live force has exceeded 100,000 people since the beginning of this year. I thank the Ukrainian soldiers for their professional combat work and sustainability, ”Sirsky said on social networks on March 16.

He did not specify, how many killed and wounded was said.

Russia does not officially disclose its losses. Moscow last called the number of killed in September 2022 – then declared 5937 dead.

On March 5, intelligence of the United Kingdom said that, since the beginning of 2025, Russia probably lost about 90,000 soldiers killed and wounded in the war against Ukraine.

“Russia has probably experienced about 875,000 casualties since the invasion of Ukraine. The average daily loss of Russians during February 2025 amounted to 1255 people, according to the General Staff of Ukraine, which is the lowest average daily rate since August 2024, ”the message reads.

Intelligence noted that the total number of Russian losses in February 2025 was 35 140, which is about 13,000 less than in January, which was the second largest month of the month in the entire large -scale war.

British intelligence suggests that a decrease in a registered amount of losses, which, however, remain high, probably reflects the decrease in the pace of Russian operations and attacks.

Kyiv also did not voice losses for a long time, stating that the data would be disclosed after the war. At the same time, on February 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with NBC News that since February 2022, Ukraine lost more than 46,000 soldiers and about 380,000 in the war.
