In Indonesia, more than 1 million gambling sites have been closed

The Ministry of Communications and Digital Technologies of Indonesia (Komdigi) has removed more than 1 million gamble sites over the past six months, Tempo reports. About 50,000 cases of illegal gambling advertising on Meta, Instagram and Facebook platforms have also been identified.

Popular Instagram accounts that have promoted online gembling sites are closed. Komdigi CEO Alexander Sabar stressed that sites and social networks are the main problem in combating negative content.

Since the beginning of this month, another 58,000 new violations have been identified. Komdigi plans to introduce monitoring systems based on AI and strengthen cooperation with global digital platforms.
