The supply of Russian oil to Hungary by the Druzhba pipeline has temporarily stopped after the Ukrainian drone attack on a measuring station, reports the Hungarian edition of Hiradoiz with a reference to the statement of foreign minister of foreign affairs Peter Siarto.

According to the head of the foreign policy department, he learned about the incident from the Russian side. The Hungarian Minister discussed the situation with Russia’s Viceremer Alexander Novak.

The attack happened on the night of March 11, when Ukrainian drones also attacked Moscow and other Russian cities. The station is undergoing repair work, and supply can be restored by the evening of this day.

The Minister called the strikes on the objects of energy related to Hungary, unacceptable and stressed that the country’s energy supply is a matter of its sovereignty. He urged Kiev not to attack the infrastructure leading to Hungary, emphasizing that Budapest was not responsible for the war.

Russia did not officially comment on what happened. The General Staff of the Armed Forces previously reported that on the night of March 11, Ukrainian drones struck the linear-production dispatching station “Stalny Kon” in the Orel region of the Russian Federation.

According to the Ukrainian side, this object manages the technological processes of the Druzhba oil pipeline and plays a key role in the transportation of oil to the terminal at the port of Ust-Lug in Leningrad region.
