The head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak expressed optimism on the rapid restoration of peaceful life in Ukraine.
In his column for the British edition of The Guardian, he noted that the last negotiations with international partners were hopeful that Ukrainians will be able to return to normal existence soon.
At the same time, he stressed that only diplomatic efforts are not enough to achieve a truce – decisive action on political and economic fronts.
According to Yermak, a key factor in establishing a long peace will be a complex pressure on Russia. He stressed that the international community should make every effort to prevent the re -attack of the aggressor.
To do this, it is necessary to strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation and to ensure control over its frozen assets. These resources should be used to support Ukraine and its restoration after the war.
Ermak paid special attention to Ukraine’s security issues. He stressed that the country needs reliable security guarantees that will be the basis for confidence in the future ceasefire agreement. Such guarantees should be enshrined internationally and protect against any potential threats from Russia.
Summarizing, Andrei Yermak expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the international community of peace in Ukraine can be restored very quickly. However, he stressed that this requires the determination and unity of all allies of Ukraine.
