Details: According to Eurostat, three EU countries have accepted almost 60% of all Ukrainian refugees: Germany – 1 170 250 people (27.3% of the total), Poland – 993 015 people (23.2%), the Czech Republic – 394,985 (9.2%).

The total number of people under temporary protection in the EU in January 2025 increased by 25 530 people (+0.6%) compared to the end of December 2024. The largest increase is recorded in Germany (+8 800; +0.8%), Czech Republic (+6 360; +1.6%) and Spain (+3 050; +1.3%).

At the same time, in some countries, the number of refugees has declined. The largest outflow was recorded in Denmark (-2 245; -6.1%), France (-660; -1.1%) and Austria (-420; -0.5%).
“Citizens of Ukraine make up more than 98.4%of all temporary protection requests in the EU. Adult women make up almost half (44.8%), children – almost a third (31.8%), while adult men – less than a quarter (23.4%),” – said Eurostat.
Compared to the population of each EU country, the highest refugees per thousand inhabitants were observed in the Czech Republic (36.2), Poland (27.1) and Estonia (26.0), while the average EU level was 9.5 per thousand.
