In the event of a dissolution of NATO, Turkey would like to become part of a new European security architecture.

This opinion was expressed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in a comment to the British newspaper Financial Times. As for the safety of Europe, the Turkish minister said: “The arrow flew out of the bow and there is no way to turn it back.”
He added that in the event of NATO dissolution, Turkey would like to become part of a new European security architecture.
“Even if President Trump decides not to throw Europe now, it is possible that in the future, someone with similar views and political ideas can consider reducing the US contribution to European security,” Fidan suggested.
We will remind, Trump criticizes NATO for a long time, in 2016 he made the following statement: “Either they (Member States – Ed.) Will pay for an unpaid, or let them take away. Even if it will destroy NATO, let it destroy.”
Turkey and the war in UkraineTurkey has long been in favor of the end of the war in Ukraine. The country’s authorities take part in the approach of peace.
In addition, on February 25, the Turkish Foreign Ministry head stated that his country had no objection to Ukraine’s accession to NATO, but called for a realistic approach to this issue.
