DARTS star Cam Crabtree reckons he might have found a new walk-on song after a blunder saw him dished out a random tune for the UK Open.

Crabtree, 21, hadn’t realised he had to choose his own walk-on song for the Minehead tournament at the weekend.

Crabtree had made no preparations for his individual moment in the spotlight and was given a random walk-on song as a result – Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic.

However, after smashing Plaisier 6-1, and then doing the same to Belgian Andy Baetens in the next round, the Croydon-born star might have to keep his new tune as a good luck charm.

Posting on X, he wrote: “Hope everyone enjoyed the UK Open this weekend!

“I didn’t realise I’d have a walk-on song, I thought it was joint. So I ended up being given 24K Magic by Bruno Mars.

“Any good suggestions for EuroTour this weekend? Or should I stick with that seeing as I won?”

Crabtree, who earned his PDC Tour Card in January, saw his luck run out in the third round, ultimately heading out after a 6-4 defeat to world number 71 Radek Szaganski.

The Englishman, who is nicknamed “Shazam”, has even seen himself creep into the top 100 rankings after his efforts at the UK Open, now sitting at 96th in the world rankings.

It was Luke Littler who went on to win the whole thing as The Nuke continued his fine form since being crowned world champion in January.

Littler breezed past James Wade 11-2 in the final, averaging over 101 at the oche.
