Since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukraine has established an anti -record by the number of born children per woman in 0.9.
The First Deputy Minister of Social Policy Darius Marchak told this during the conference “Demographic Future of Ukraine: Strategy of Stability and Restoration. Vision of civil society, “Ukrinform writes.
According to Marchak, in total, the average population reproduction is 2.2 children per woman of childbearing age, and in EU countries, where there is a difficult demographic situation – 1.5.
At the same time, in Ukraine before the Great War, this figure was 1.16, and now fell to 0.9.
“According to some estimates, it is an anti -record in the history of our country,” Daria Marchak said.
She stressed that because of the low birth rate and mass emigration of the population of Ukraine is growing up rapidly. The average age of citizens increased from 41 to 45 years in a short period.
“We are very older as a nation, and it still looks like this trend will continue. Today, the ratio of pensioners to working people is 1: 1, and this is without taking into account those who receive social assistance. When we reach your retirement age, this ratio is likely to be much lower, ”said the Minister Deputy.
According to her, one of the main tasks of “Demographic Demographic Demographic Demographic Demographic Strategy” should be to create opportunities for people to stay economically and physically independent as long as possible.
“We need to take care of ensuring a decent standard of living at a good age, so pension reform is extremely urgent. We also need to develop the care economy, ”Marchak said.
Earlier it was reported that the population of Ukraine has decreased by 10 million people, or about a quarter, since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia. The reasons for the reduction were the outflow of refugees, the fall of fertility and the death of people in the war.
There are currently 29 million people in Ukraine. Our state has ceased to be the second country of the former USSR in terms of number, the Institute of Demography of the National Academy of Sciences said.
