Representatives of the United States and Russia at a meeting in Turkey have identified the initial steps to stabilize the work of diplomatic missions of both countries, the US Department of State said.

Literally the State Department: “The United States has expressed concern for access to banking and contract services, as well as the need to ensure a stable and sustainable personnel of the US Embassy in Moscow. In the course of constructive discussions, both sides have identified specific initial steps to stabilize bilateral missions in these areas.”

It is noted that in Turkey, the US delegation was headed by the deputy assistant US Secretary of State for Russia and Central Europe Sonata Coulter, and Russian – Director of the North Atlantic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ambassador Alexander Darchiev.

• Earlier, the Kremlin’s head Vladimir Putin praised Donald Trump’s administration for “pragmatism” and “real view of things”, noting that the first contacts with US representatives inspire “certain hopes”.
• Negotiations in Istanbul took place in the continuation of the meeting of the US and Russia delegations on February 18 in Saudi Arabia, which took place without the participation of representatives of Ukraine.
