The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed that by the attack on the BYBIT Exchange are hackers from the North Korean group of Tradertraitor, known in the industry also as Lazarus Group, Apt38, Bluenoroff and Stardust Collima.
The Office published a list of 51 Ethereum addresses related to the group and recommended that companies refrain from interacting with these wallets.
According to the FBI, the attackers actively convert stolen assets into bitcoins and other digital currencies. The funds are dispersed at thousands of addresses on several blockchains. These cryptocurrencies are expected to be washed and transferred to Fiat.
Recall that on February 26, the total amount of money reached 135,000 ETH, and CEO bybit Ben Zhou announced “Hunting for Heads”, launching the Lazarus Group site.
Earlier, Adam Beck’s ciphyroppan called “the wrong EVM design” the cause of the hacking of the exchange. Later, Sygnia analysts reported that the incident occurred because of the vulnerability in the SAFE infrastructure.
