Details: A state of emergency in connection with the situation in Ukraine was introduced on March 6, 2014 by a decree 13660 of the then President Barack Obama. Since then, its action has been expanded several times-in particular on February 21, 2022, after Russia’s recognition of the legal personality of terrorist entities “L/DNR”.

In addition, in December 2014 and September 2018, US Presidents introduced additional sanctions.
“The actions and policies referred to in these decrees continue to pose an unusual and extreme threat to national security and foreign policy of the United States,” Trump’s decree reads.
In this regard, the state of emergency declared in decree of 13660, the President of the United States ordered “to continue for 1 year”, or until March 6, 2026.
It should be noted that in the same way in 2024 the same emergency was continued by US President Joe Biden.
