The Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK, former commander of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny in an interview with NV told how in London they respond to the latest statements from Washington, at which a point can be a war in Ukraine in half a year, whether there is a loss of losses in Russia and that will become new gunpowder to break the situation on the battlefield

The conversation took place as part of the Great West NV “Ukraine is changing the world. Dialogues about opportunities. ” NV publishes the full version.

– Mr. Valeria, here in Ukraine you worked in a supra -intensity format with emotional overload. Now you are in London. How do you have such a dissonance in your feelings and what are your impressions? Do British government officials understand, which is why Ukraine is now going on?

– A very interesting question about the transition from one activity to another. It is really difficult, especially for a military person who gives himself to service and is in constant stress. But thanks that all my life I studied, tried to get something new and try myself in something new, for me this process was painless. And as of today I feel in my plate.

As for British government officials, it is probably first and foremost said that Britain is a democratic country with a developed and long history of democracy. And when we talk about British government officials, we always remember that they fully represent the British people. And they broadcast exactly what the British people think. And despite the fact that it is difficult to perceive a war in a country that is very far (For example, I tried to draw an analogy with how I perceived a war that went between Iran and Iraq, 1980–1988, of course, it was interesting that it was happening there, but so as to worry much about it and greatly influence its course, it That’s difficult). Britain is a unique country, it is completely in this process. She not only worries, but also requires the right decisions to be made by Ukraine.

So today it is the Britain’s government, by the way, which is still interesting: not only the government, but also the opposition (It is a rare phenomenon when we have absolute support among the current authorities and among the opposition, which is also completely different here). But my answer to this question is very confident and should not be interpreted differently. I think that Britain and British officials are absolutely understanding what is happening in Ukraine. Not only do they understand, they do a lot for us.

– How did London react to the shocking statements of US President Donald Trump about the fact that Ukraine was not going to start the war?
