Cardinal changes. IBU posted a Biathlon World Cup calendar for 2026–2030

The well -known Biathlon World Cup calendar to the next Olympic cycle was the well -known calendar – from 2026 to 2030.

He was published by the press service of the International Union of Biathletes (Ibu).

The main change is the broken classical January link of the stages of Obergof – Rupolding – Antholtz. Obergof, which is traditionally problematic in terms of weather, moved in the calendar at the later stage of the season: this German stage will take place in late February or early March.

Also Ibu He abandoned the New Year’s pause in the calendar: in addition to the season-2027/28, athletes will now compete in the New Year. Moreover, in the season-2028/29, two consecutive stages will take place in this period of time: December 28-31-Pokluka (Slovenia), January 2-7-New Mesto (Czech Republic).

In the seasons 2026/27 and 2028/29 in the World Cup there will be 10 stages instead of the usual 9. It should also be noted that in these seasons there is a stage in the Calendar, although in December it was reported that this location refused to hold competitions of the World Cup.
