In Transcarpathia, a large -scale scheme of illegal mineral water production, which was organized by the management of one of the sanatoriums, was exposed.

Over half a year, criminals were pumped over 26,000 cubic meters of water, causing damage to more than UAH 644 million.
According to the investigation, the manager of the sanatorium and his deputy are involved in the scheme, who is also a deputy of the village council. They were licensed for water intake in the Mukachevo district, but using special equipment, pumped it from a site that were not eligible. Water by trucks was sent to enterprises for bottling and sale throughout Ukraine.
The defendants were suspected of illegal mining of national importance. The court chose them a preventive measure – detention with the right to make bail.
