The European Union Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maliva said that by providing assistance to Ukraine, the EU has reliable processes and knows where the money is going.

“I cannot speak for the United States or for their president. I can say that in all our support of Ukraine we have very reliable processes to see where the money goes, ”she told reporters, commenting on US President Donald Trump’s statements that he does not know where American money is going in Ukraine .

The Ambassador noted that it was providing Ukraine with budget support, and the European Union also provided money for grants for public organizations and projects, where UN organizations, financial institutions and national agencies were responsible.

“So we are confident where the money goes,” she added.

The day before, President Donald Trump said the United States has allocated about $ 350 billion in Ukraine, however, according to him, there is no reporting.

“We have given Kiev 350 billion. Well, maybe a little smaller, but it’s a significant sum. But where is all this money? Where do they go? I have never seen any report on it, ”he said on February 18.

As for the US financial assistance, Zelensky told February 19 that Ukraine received $ 67 billion in military assistance and $ 31.5 billion in direct financial assistance to the budget.

“I think you need to deal with help. We have completely different figures, unfortunately. We are very clear. We cost us $ 320 billion. 120 billion are us, the people of Ukraine are taxpayers, 200 billion are the US and the European Union, ”Zelensky said.

On February 11, US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine had already agreed to give the United States access to rare earth minerals for $ 500 billion in exchange for military assistance.

On February 15, the political observer of The Washington Post Josh Rogin reported, citing American congressmen who participated in the Munich Conference that Volodymyr Zelenskyy refused the proposal of the US delegation to sign a memorandum that would receive 50% of all future minerals in Ukraine. Subsequently, the journalist said that Ukraine seemed to have not signed the agreement, because “in exchange for access to resources did not receive any security guarantees.”

Subsequently, Zelensky said that the agreement was not signed because of “legal issues”.
