The Islander, 30, seductively crawled on the floor dressed as a kinky devil and simulated sex with partner Curtis Pritchard before pressing his face into her breasts.
She shocked the ITV2 cast by kissing Sammy Root despite promising his partner Elma Pazar moments before that she would behave.
Producers saved Ekin’s routine until the end of the girls’ challenge and persuaded her to reenact her famous terrace crawl, which became a viral moment when she first starred on the show in 2019.
A TV source revealed the former soap actress was told to go as ‘wild’ as possible by producers and she was more than happy to oblige.
However, the insider also disclosed that some of the Islanders felt Ekin’s ‘outrageous’ performance was at the expense of her co-stars.
‘Ekin was egged on by Love Island producers, they encouraged her to let go of any inhibitions and really go for it,’ a source explained.
‘The same pressure wasn’t put on the other stars of the series, but execs know that Ekin is always prepared to go the extra mile.
‘Elma felt like Ekin’s show was at her detriment after the actress created yet another storyline by kissing Sammy despite being coupled with Curtis.
‘But the episode was manufactured by those working behind the scenes who wanted an uplifting show after the departure of not one but two Islanders.’
A show source added: ‘Islanders are encouraged to have fun and do what they are comfortable with in the Heart Rate challenge and any other game.’
The Heart Rate challenge followed two dramatic exits from Islanders Scott Thomas and Ron Hall.
After opting to leave the South African villa, Scott told his Instagram followers although he didn’t find his ‘fairytale ending’ on the show, he was thankful for the ‘amazing’ connections he explored.
MailOnline has contacted an ITV spokesperson for comment.
He said: ‘I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. It was a twice in a lifetime experience and I explored an amazing connection in there but it just wasn’t meant to be.
‘I am so proud of myself because I stayed true to myself and that is so important to me. I just want to say thank you, I can see so many messages and I’m so appreciative.’
Following Scott’s shock departure, Ron also opted to leave.
But his exit wasn’t met with the same fanfare and Ron is yet to publicly comment on the reasons why he decided to fly home.
He told his co-stars that it was his time after he failed to find a romantic spark with any of the All Stars cast.
Since their exits, the villa has been rocked by the arrival of bombshells Samie Elishi and Chuggs Wallis.
During Wednesday night’s instalment, the public decided that Samie should couple up with Luca Bish, leaving Grace Jackson single.
Chuggs paired up with Danielle Sellers, a result which disappointed Tina Stinnes, who has been single since Scott quit the series.
