Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy has strictly responded to the rise in drug prices on pharmacy networks. The head of state requires specific steps to protect the health of citizens and assured that otherwise it is ready to make appropriate personnel decisions. He said this in a traditional evening address.
– It is necessary to support the financial stability of every Ukrainian family, all our citizens. In many ways, this concerns price issues, including vital things, such as medicines. What they do with Some pharmacy networks are quite unacceptable. And this is the responsibility of the government, it is the Minister of Health, the Antimonopoly Committee. I held a meeting with them today and I was tired of waiting for the appropriate suggestions. Time is a little. All you need to do is quite clear. There are specific steps, specific solutions that will make it more accessible to protect our people’s health. If there are no solutions for medication, there will be personnel decisions, – the President emphasized.
Zelensky also stated that all Ukrainian support programs will continue – millions of people have already helped and this work continues. The government is instructed to provide financial resources to the direct support of people and Ukrainian producers.
Zelensky stressed that the key priority is the growth of Ukrainian production, which will give more budget revenues, more jobs and more independence in our country. At the same time, he added that law enforcement officers took into account all the materials provided by tax and financial monitoring on the detected violations. Schemes in the financial sector are found by billions, so it is now important to pick them up from the shadows and direct the real opportunity to help people, emphasized Zelensky.
