In the successful treatment of cancer, early detection plays an important role – it improves the prognosis for treatment and increases the chances of full recovery. So, early diagnosis of cancer is a priority for the health care system

In addition, on January 1, 2025, Ukraine came into force on the order of screening and early diagnosis of breast cancer, cervical cancer and colorectal cancer, as well as monitoring the health of patients at risk.

Breast cancer (RMZ) The Ministry of Health notes that measures for early detection of breast cancer should be aimed at all women over the age of 21. Among other things, doctors should interview the patient about the risk factors and symptoms that may indicate RMZ and examine the breast during preventive medical examinations and examinations.

In case of detection of signs that may indicate the likelihood of RMZ development, the doctor sends the patient for examination to an oncologist or oncologist. For women 50-69 years-examination and palpation of the breast and referral for mammography-every two years.

Cervical cancer (RSM)It is reported that the prevention of cervical cancer is also performed for women over the age of 21. Among other things, doctors should interview the patient about risk factors and symptoms that may indicate PCM. For women from 35 years of age-PCR-test for HPV with genotyping at least once every 10 years. The doctor may change the frequency and types of examinations according to patient risk factors or complaints.

Colorectal cancer (CRR)Early detection of colorectal cancer involves a survey of patients over 40 years of age about risk factors and symptoms that may indicate colorectal cancer – every 2 years, and in the case of risk factors – every year.

For people aged 50-75 years, it is recommended to inspect and refer to a feces test for hidden blood or for a fecal immunochemical test (FIT)-every 2 years, and in the presence of risk factors-every year.
