“There are two cases where the status of persons missing in special circumstances is terminated. The first is when the location of a living person who is free in his actions was established. In particular, it is, for example, the military who returned from captivity. Or persons who were able to go to third countries and they are really free, ”he said.
According to him, the second case of termination of this status for a person is the identification of a person in the body (remains), when according to the results of the investigation, conducting certain expert studies, the investigator or the prosecutor makes a procedural decision to identify the body of the dead.

“This may be, for example, a court decision to declare a person dead, or notify the captivity. Unfortunately, there are cases where there was a confirmation of a person who was held captive, and then the body of that person was received during repatriation, ”the Commissioner added.
