At the same time, the Commissioner stated that this register is introduced mainly against people who disappeared in the war zone or in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
According to him, information about persons who disappeared as a result of emergencies or through natural, man -made events are also entered in the Register.

In Ukraine, since May 2023, a single register of missing persons has been launched. All the data on servicemen also get there.
As of the end of December last year, nearly 60,000 people were wanted in the register of missing persons.
