Details: The annual conference is an independent forum where the persons responsible for security policies discuss current and future challenges.
Participants are usually heads of state, governments and international organizations, ministers, legislators and high -ranking officials in the defense sphere.
The Chairman of the Conference Christoph Goisgen said that “ADN” and ACS do not adhere to the basic principle of the conference – peace due to dialogue.
An example of this, Goisgen, called the boycott the deputies of both parties of June speech by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the German Parliament, the Bundestag, which took place in June.
“This is the opposite of dialogue and I do not want something like this at the conference,” Goesgen said.
It has long been accepted that all parties presented in the Bundestag are invited to the conference.
But Goisgen departed from this practice in 2023, when he first presented at the conference and did not invite any MP from the Adn.
Last year, he also excluded ACS from the list of invitees.
The Munich Security Conference has been held in the Bavaria capital every winter since 1963 with rare exceptions.
