The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine responded to the statements of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo, who accused GUR of involvement in protests in Slovakia through the fighters of the Georgian Legion.

GUR officially reported that there is no unit called “Georgian National Legion” in its structure.

“As for the person mentioned at the press conference, it is not a Ukrainian serviceman, is not related to Ukrainian intelligence, does not receive any tasks or orders of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This person stopped his contract with the International Legion of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in April 2023 and did not renew it, ”the statement reads.

GUR “strongly rejects false accusations of organizing misconduct in Slovakia” and emphasizes that it is in constant contact and cooperation with colleagues from NATO countries, adheres to the principles The countries of Europe have solved the Russian Federation of a full -scale war, in particular the information component of Russian aggression. ”

Ukrainian intelligence emphasizes that European policies should be as responsible as their words as much as possible, “especially for accusations against friendly countries, so as not to give any reasons for hostile propaganda.”

“It is Russia that makes constant attempts to sow discord between the free world countries, discredits European politicians, interferes with democratic elections, organizes street lawlessness, and even carries out political murder in Europe,” Gur said.

The Georgian Legion also rejected the “groundless and absurd” accusations of Slovak authorities in his official statement, calling them “a conscious attempt to discredit the unit.”

The day before, Robert Fitzo accused the Georgian Legion and his leader Mamuk Mammulashvili of involvement in the organization of protests in Slovakia. He also stated that the organizers of public protests, the initiative “Mir of Ukraine” allegedly funded the Georgian Legion and the Ukrainian counterintelligence.

At a press conference, Fitzo demonstrated photos of Mammilashvili with the activist of Mir of Ukraine Lucia Staselova and commentator of the Internet edition of Dennikn.Sk Martin Shimechka, the father of opposition leader Michal Shimechka, wrote Reuters.

Fitzo, who took a pro -Russian position on the war in Ukraine and was in a dispute with Kiev after he stopped transit of Russian gas exports, faced protests through his policy.
