He stated that he took part in a roundtable on public transport work during air alarm in Kiev. Tkachenko expressed his belief that the functioning of the city “should be balanced”.
“The safety and mobility of Kyivans are a priority. However, considering the issue of public transport stop during anxiety, I did not receive any documented analytical justification of this decision. In addition to the decision itself, no additional research or material was provided, ”the KMVA chairman said.
Tkachenko also stated that the position of the military on this issue was not officially presented. He also called the execution of the Defense Council to stop the transport by selective, because communal and private carriers have to stop during anxiety, “but in practice it does not happen.”

Earlier, despite the request of Kyivans, the city authorities refused to cancel the ban on public transport movement in Kiev during air alarm.
In May 2023, the Kiev authorities changed the rules of work of land public transport during air alarm – since then it must bring passengers to the nearest shelter.
According to the decision of the local authorities, in the case of air alarm of KP “Kyivpastrans” and private companies providing passenger transportation services, they should stop near the nearest shelter for the population located on the route.
