Stubb confessed that after talking to President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, his optimism grew.
According to Yle, the politician suggested that the armistice could come in the near future months. He expressed this opinion today at a meeting with political journalists.
“At first they will strive for a truce, which will take from 3 to 6 months, and then for peace talks,” Stubb said.
According to him, Finland’s policy is to observe the principles of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He believes that in the coming days, weeks and months, Ukraine should be maintained so that it has a strong position to start possible negotiations on a truce and peace.

The President was asked about the chances of US President Donald Trump to plant Russian President Vladimir Putin at the negotiation table and eventually reach peace in Ukraine.
Stubb noted the Trump method, which puts Ultimatum and forces Putin to peace. In his opinion, Putin should be forced to negotiate, not bend to them. He explained:

According to Stubb, there is no risk that peace will be discussed without the participation of Ukraine itself. He is convinced that Europe should also participate in negotiations in one form or another, since they are solving the future of European security structures.
