On January 29, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia summoned the Ambassador of Ukraine on January 29 – Slovak Media reported this with reference to the Department of Communications of the Government Office.

According to reports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country expressed the Ukrainian diplomat Miroslav Castran “A sharp protest” against Kyiv’s statements on the rhetoric of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo. The Ministry regarded them as an interference in the internal affairs of Slovakia.

Officially, the Embassy of Ukraine in Slovakia did not report the call of the ambassador.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has previously stated that the “regular absurd statements” of the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo is an attempt to transfer responsibility for his own failures in domestic policy to foreign states and leaders:

“The Ukrainian side has repeatedly warned the danger of pro -Russian policy of the leadership of Slovakia. The result is obvious: Robert Fitzo and individual parliamentary figures of Slovakia were poisoned by Russian propaganda, ceased to distinguish between black and white, and now began to call the leaders of neighboring friendly democracies “enemies”.

On the eve of the Slovak Prime Minister, he spoke for the continuation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine and named President Vladimir Zelensky’s words about the possible transit of gas from Azerbaijan to Europe with a cover maneuver, threatened to veto Ukraine from the European Union. Fitzo also called President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky a “enemy”, which harms Slovakia.

Zelensky in response stressed that Russian gas should be paid “not only money, but also independence and sovereignty.”

At 7 am on January 1, Ukraine “in the interests of national security” stopped the transportation of Russian natural gas in its territory.

Mass demonstrations against the pro -Russian policy of Prime Minister Robert Fitzo have taken place in more than 20 cities of Slovakia.

Fitzo stated that an organized group of persons who receive funding from abroad and is connected with the Slovak opposition plans a “coup”.
