In the Odessa region, near the Danube Biosphere Reserve, public utilities began to clean the oil products flowing from the sunk Russian tankers in the Kerch Strait.

“Utilities of the Liman Village Council on behalf of the Odessa OVA began to clean the oil products in the territory of the Sand of the Black Sea along part of the Dzhantshe estuary and Lake Sasik,” the message reads.
Subsequently, the scattered sand will be transferred to a special recycling and recovery facility.
On January 24, the first traces of contamination of the fuel oil, which got into the sea due to the accident of Russian tankers in the Kerch Strait, were found on the beaches of the Odessa region.
Earlier in Odesa region already collected fuel oil on the coast of the park “Tuzlsky estuaries”.
