The Russian regions on the night of January 29 suffered the second a week of massive attacks of drones. The Russian Defense Ministry reported about the alleged destruction of 104 drones, the governors counted them for at least 19 more, the Russian Radio Liberty Service writes.

According to the Russian department, drones were recorded over nine regions: Kursk, Bryansk, Smolensk, Tver, Belgorod, Nizhnynorodskaya, Kaluga, Rostov, Leningrad.

In particular, in the city of Kstvo, Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, a fire in the territory of the industrial zone, where the oil refinery “Lukoil-Nizhzhegorodnftoorgsynthesis”, as well as chemical enterprises and thermal power plant, was located.

The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region confirmed the fact of the raid of Ukrainian drones on KSTOV, stating that “into the territory of one of the enterprises of the KSTOV region” fell fragments of a downed drone, and that as a result there was a “ignition”. According to preliminary data, there are no victims.

The Lukoil-Nizhygorodnefteorgsynthesis plant in KSTOV is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in Russia, which provides gasoline to Moscow. In the spring of 2024, it was attacking drones, which damaged the installation of primary oil processing.

In the Smolensk region of Russia, one of the drones was shot down “while attempting to attack the object of nuclear energy”, said Governor Vasyl Anokhin. What object is, anokhin did not specify. In the Belgorod region, one person was injured during an attack by a drone of an apartment building.
