NABU began criminal proceedings against Umerov’s Defense Minister – the media

It is noted that the relevant proceedings were registered after the application of the Center for Combating Corruption of January 27 on the possible unlawful actions of the Minister. In particular, it was a possible commission of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of office).

At the same time, Radio Liberty with reference to NABU’s response to journalists writes that proceedings have been initiated on possible abuse of power or office by the Minister for his refusal to continue his contract with the head of the Defense Procurement Agency (AOP) Chmuta and Yuri Jigir.

“According to the results of consideration of the application (from the Center for Combating Corruption – Ed.) Decisions in Article 214 of the CPC of Ukraine on the entry of information in the Unified Register Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ”the bureau said.

At the same time, NABU reminded the presumption of innocence of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

“Radio Liberty” notes that Article 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment for officials in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years, with a fine From five hundred to one thousand non -taxable minimum incomes.
