The Russians in neutral status are allowed to participate in individual sports competitions, in particular at the Olympiads, provided that they were not supported in support of war and not related to the army.
As a result of the war and sanctions, more than 200 Russian athletes have changed or intended to change sports citizenship to be able to perform in international competitions. Among them, both beginner athletes and are known all over the world, for example, the winner of the world chamber of chess champs Alexander Kosteniuk now stands for Switzerland.
