Oleksandr Petryshyn became the acting head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine as the oldest judge.

This was reported by the KSU press service.

On January 23, the judges of the Constitutional Court gathered to elect a chairman, but again failed to do so. New elections of the head of the Court will become possible only after there are 12 current judges out of 18 in the composition of the KSU.

On January 21, the Court considered applications for the dismissal of judges Viktor Kolisnyk, Viktor Krivenko and Volodymyr Moysyk in connection with the completion of their nine-year term of office. The applications were granted with the date of dismissal on January 27, as a result of which the number of active judges in the KSU was reduced to 11.

Competitions to fill 7 vacant posts based on quotas from the President, the Verkhovna Rada and the Congress of Judges have been ongoing since 2024.

We previously wrote that on January 27, the 9-year term of office of three judges of the Constitutional Court – Viktor Kryvenk, Volodymyr Moysyk and Viktor Kolisnyk – ended. After their resignation, only 11 judges remained in the court, and there should be 18.
