The sanctions, as indicated, apply to three citizens of the Russian Federation, who are wanted for cyber attacks on Estonian computer systems in 2020.
According to the draft document, as reported, the sanctions apply to: Mykola Oleksandrovych Korchagin (born in 1997); Vitaly Shevchenko (born in 1997); Yuriy Fedorovych Denisov (born in 1980).
“All three are officers of the 29155th military unit of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU). They are charged with participation in attacks on critical infrastructure of Estonia, illegal access to computer systems and theft of confidential data,” the publication writes.
According to the EU, as indicated, these cyberattacks had an intelligence nature and endangered the security of the country and its allies.
