Frequent damage to underwater cables in the seas raises doubts about their randomness. The spokesman of the Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, suggests that Russia may use a new tactic similar to “they are not there”. He told about this on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.

The Baltic Sea actually became NATO’s internal sea, so the Russians have no advantages there. I’ve been a fan of cable damage being an accident, because it’s practically impossible to do it on purpose, but the number of such cases indicates that it’s more likely a tactic. The Russians have probably mastered a new tactic — “anchor attack”

He says that it is very difficult to prove someone’s guilt, but it is very similar to the “they are not there” tactic.
