“The Polish tennis player held a press conference after the defeat of Madison Keys at the AO-2025”, — write: sport.ua
– What do you think influenced the outcome of the match?
– It’s hard to say, because everything was decided by one or two goals. The match was long, everything was constantly changing. But I think Madison played bravely at the end, she put pressure on me at the right times. I would say that I didn’t feel as free as I was in previous matches to add at the right moments. In the second set, I just stopped moving. And it is impossible to win a match without moving (laughs).
– Was the goat braver than in your previous meetings?
– No, she always took risks, but today it worked (smiles).
– Did you feel that the match was in your hands?
– Not really. I think it was 50/50. I could easily win points on serve, as could she – but when it came down to it, she served and I didn’t serve as well. It could have had an effect. But the difference from the very beginning was minimal. I wanted to forget the second set and just go back to my game. But in the first and third, I played well, my tennis, even if I did not control everything at 100%, as in previous matches.
I played well, but she played even better. I did everything I could. I can’t say that I was scared, that I definitely should have won. Madison absolutely deservedly made it to the finals.
– How painful is it to lose the match ball, the first final here and the opportunity to return to the first step of the rating?
– You have to try it yourself to find out (smiles).
